This auspicious event witnessed overwhelming participation and enthusiasm from members of the Gujarati community and beyond.Yesterday (September 3, 2023) we all gathered at at Leppävaara to immerse ourselves in the rich cultural and spiritual traditions associated with Lord Krishna's birth. The event was marked by various cultural performances and activities that are central to Janmashtami.The highlight of the evening was the reenactment of Lord Krishna's birth. A beautifully decorated cradle with an idol of baby Krishna (enactd by Baby Dviti) was placed at the center of the venue. Devotees gathered around, singing bhajans (devotional songs), and shared in the joyous moment of Krishna's birth. This ritual brought a sense of divinity and unity among the participants.No Indian festival is complete without delicious cuisine. The event featured a sumptuous spread of various dishes orfered by Mepoo’s Kittchens and Grani’s Kitchen. Attendees relished prasad items such as makhan (butter), panjari (sweet prasad), and other traditional offerings.The event not only celebrated Lord Krishna's birth but also promoted cultural awareness and unity among diverse groups of people through open mic where devotees shared their favorite Krishna story. It is anticipated that this event will become an annual tradition, strengthening the bonds of community and culture among all who participate.
